Dress Code Guidelines

Worship | Production | Media

At Calvary Chapel Reno-Sparks, we value modesty, professionalism, and unity in all areas of ministry. Whether you’re on stage leading worship, serving behind the scenes in production, or capturing moments for media, your attire should reflect a heart of reverence for God and consideration for the congregation.

General Guidelines (All Teams)

Modest & Appropriate – Avoid overly tight, revealing, or distracting clothing.

Neat & Presentable – Clothing should be clean, wrinkle-free, and in good condition.

Avoid Logos & Graphics – Unless church-related, refrain from shirts with large logos, slogans, or offensive imagery.

Wear Comfortable Footwear – Closed-toe shoes are required for production team members handling equipment.

Worship

For those leading on stage, a polished and professional appearance is key.

    1. Smart casual or dressy-casual (e.g., jeans with a nice top, dresses, skirts below the knee)

    2. Neutral or darker colors to avoid distractions under stage lighting

    3. Layers (jackets, cardigans, etc.) that enhance professionalism

    1. Shorts, ripped/distressed jeans, or tank tops

    2. Overly flashy, neon, or reflective clothing

    3. Hats (unless necessary for personal or medical reasons)

Production

Those serving in audio, lighting, and livestream should wear practical and professional attire suited for hands-on work.

    1. Black or dark-colored clothing (helps minimize distractions)

    2. Comfortable, durable attire suited for movement (e.g., jeans, polos, dark T-shirts)

    3. Closed-toe shoes for safety around cables and equipment

    1. Bright colors or patterns that stand out in low lighting

    2. Loose accessories or baggy clothing that could get caught on gear

    3. Open-toe shoes (flip-flops, sandals, etc.)

Media

Photographers, videographers, and designers represent the church visually.

    1. Dark or neutral clothing (especially for photographers & videographers)

    2. Practical yet stylish attire for those representing the team publicly

    3. Comfortable shoes for mobility during events

    1. Distracting patterns or bright neon colors

    2. Clothing that restricts movement (especially for those carrying gear)

Final Reminders

  1. Always dress in a way that honors the Lord and respects the congregation.

  2. If unsure, ask your team leader for guidance.

  3. The goal is excellence in worship and service—let your appearance reflect that.
